The 2026 release of Compass Box Hedonism united internationally acclaimed actor Karen Gillan and Australian visual artist Emma Hack to reinterpret one of Scotch whisky’s most iconic names. Delightful Media was commissioned to produce the campaign’s documentary and lead its visual storytelling.
Hedonism: Brought To Life
A Meeting Point of Art and Whisky
Originally launched in 2000 as a pioneering blend of grain whiskies, Compass Box Hedonism has long challenged convention. Today, as a Limited Annual Release, it has evolved into a platform for creative reinvention.
In this chapter, Karen Gillan appears as The Muse, while Emma Hack creates a bespoke artwork centred around her – a piece that would ultimately become the bottle’s label. The collaboration reframes Hedonism not simply as a whisky, but as a dialogue between spirit and contemporary art.
Our film, Hedonism: Brought To Life, captures that intersection – blending portraiture, artistic process and craft. Featuring commentary from industry voices including bartender Jack Sotti and whisky expert Billy Abbott, the documentary grounds artistic ambition in deep category expertise.
This marks the third instalment in our ongoing content collaboration with Compass Box – a long-term creative partnership built on storytelling as brand strategy.
Extending the Story Across Formats
The documentary formed the campaign’s cinematic core – but the story was designed to travel.
We developed a suite of social cutdowns for global digital rollout, ensuring the narrative retained its depth across platforms and markets. Alongside the film, a photography series captured in collaboration with Josh Shinner provided a striking visual counterpart – blending performance, craftsmanship and contemporary artistry.
Shot in London and distributed internationally, the campaign positioned Hedonism as both heritage icon and modern creative platform.
